Admission is done through Chandigarh Engineering and Architecture counselling based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains Paper 2. Qualification: Class 12th, Minimum Eligibility to Apply: 50% and Additional Details Mandatory Subject: Mathematics.

Both are important, but JEE Mains paper 2 is for NITs and NATA score will be accepted throughout the country as it is conducted by COA. If you have a strong desire of doing architecture from IIT then you have to appear for AAT.

The exam has 3 parts
1. General Aptitude - 40 questions (80 marks each i.e. 2 marks of each question).
2. Maths - 20 questions (40 marks i.e. one mark of each question).
3. Drawing - 2 questions (80 marks i.e. 40 marks of each question).

You can not directly apply for the Bachelor of architecture course after the Diploma course in civil engineering. You have one chance to get admission in B.Arch offering colleges. That is, you can apply for the entrance exams like JEE after completion of your Diploma. After securing a decent rank in the same, you will get admission for the B.Arch course in the NIT's or in the private universities. Also, if you score a decent total in the JEE exam, you will get admission in the IITs for a Bachelor course in architecture.

Eligibility Candidates applying for this course are required to have acquired 10+2/equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate score of 45%. Candidates who have completed a Diploma in civil engineering are also eligible to apply for this course through lateral entry. Along with these requirements, candidates are also needed to appear for entrance examinations to get admitted into this course. These examinations are generally conducted at the level of the institute.

B.Tech in civil engineering is called BE and B.Arch means architecture course. Both the courses are different from each other. The B.Tech in Civil Engineering has duration of four years. B.Arch course is a three years degree course. Civil Engineering is a traditional branch of engineering which deals with the study of planning, analysing, supervision and construction of buildings. B.Arch is the study that deals with the designing of a building and its physical structures.
