B.Arch

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programme at D.Y. Patil College of Architecture, Pune, is a five-year full-time professional degree course that prepares students for a career in architectural design and planning. To be eligible for admission to this program, candidates must fulfill the academic and entrance exam requirements set by the Council of Architecture (CoA) and the State CET Cell, Maharashtra.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (HSC) or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories). Alternatively, students who have completed a 10+3 Diploma course recognised by the Central or State Government with Mathematics as a subject and with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category) are also eligible.

In addition to academic qualifications, candidates must qualify in one of the recognised entrance exams:

• NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture
  OR

• JEE Main Paper 2 (Architecture) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)

Admission is granted through a centralized admission process conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. Selection is based on entrance test scores and merit ranking.

This eligibility structure ensures that students entering the programme have both the academic foundation and the aptitude required for success in the field of architecture.

The subjects taught in the BArch course at Pillai College of Architecture are Architectural Design Studio, Allied Design Studio, Architectural Building Construction and Technology and Materials, Architectural Graphics, Architectural theory, Humanities, Building Services, Building Environment and climate study, College Project, Urban Design, Landscape,  Electives (has a vast range of topics that cover Communication Skills, Software's, GIS,  Indian Knowledge Systems, Geometry in Architecture, Biophilic Architecture, Tangible and intangible Indian Heritage, Building heritage and Conservation, Journalism, Photography etc.). There are also Site visits, Market Surveys, Study Tours, Guest Lectures, Expert Talks, Onsite Documentation, Workshops, Competitions etc.
