B.Des Eligibility

In order to get admission to BDes at UID Delhi-NCR, students are required to pass Class 12 or 3 year Diploma in any stream from any recognised higher secondary board/ institute. The selection is done based on the performance of candidates in the UID DAT exam and Situation Test & Portfolio evaluation, which is conducted in offline mode.

Cited below are the eligibility criteria for admission to the BDes course at INSD Kolkata:

• The candidate must have passed class 12.
• Candidates are required to apply either online or offline depending upon their convenience. INSD Kolkata inducts students based on their marks in class 12.
• Selected candidates will have to report to the admission cell for document verification and tuition fee payment.

Candidates who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects is the basic eligibility for BDes offered at IIT Guwahati. Further, the selection of candidates is based on the scores obtained by them in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) followed by a counselling round conducted at the institute.

MIT Institute of Design offers three three-year BDes programme under eleven specialisation. Candidates who have passed class 12th from any stream (HSC, CBSE, ICSE, IB) are eligible for the BDes programme. Further, candidates are required to go through the two-phase admission procedure. The first phase is to pass the Institute-based entrance test i.e. MIT DAT (MIT Design Aptitude Test). The second phase revolves around personal interviews and studio tests. 

Candidates seeking admission to the BDes programme of NIFT Bangalore have to appear for the NIFT Entrance test that comprises of CAT and GAT. The eligibility criteria for NIFT is mentioned below:

Aspirants must pass Class 12 from a recognised board to apply for BDes courses at NIFT Hyderabad. Candidates also need to pass NIFT Entrance Exam (CAT + GAT) followed by a Situation Test for admission.

The eligibility of BDes at KJ Somaiya is class 12 with 50% and selection will be complete based on entrance exam like NIFT, NID, PERA CET, UCEED and Design Aptitude Test of Somaiya School of Design. The duration for the BDes is four years, for better understanding refer the table below:

At the undergraduate level, NIFT Jodhpur offers a Bachelor of Design programme to students. The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the Bachelor of Design programme at NIFT Jodhpur is to pass Class 12 from a recognised board or pass a three or four-year Diploma recognised by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) or the State Board of Technical Education. Apply for admission to various undergraduate programmes as soon as the admission opens. The seats are limited and the candidates applying for admission are many.
