It's very tough to say which department of IISc is better than the other. In fact each department competes with another for academic excellence in this institute. You need to check the same with the college itself, as they have not shared this information yet.

The placements in ECE branch are quite good. Many IT and core companies visit for the placements. If you are good then you can get good job opportunities. Minimum CGPA required to attend the placements is 6.5.

Hi, Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal Entrance Test. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidate must be passed in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.
