BGS Institute of Technology provides hostel rooms to its students on a sharing basis. The rooms are provided with basic furniture like cot, table and chair. The hostel fee may be charged separate from the tuition fee. Late night entry, leaving hostel without permission, smoking & drinking is not allowed in the BGSIT hostel.

The BGS Institute of Technology has a separate Training and Placement cell to guide and prepare its students for future industry roles. The Training & Placement Cell conducts tests covering Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal & Mathematical Ability, Language Skills, and Technical Skills. The students go through Personality Assessment Tests, Presentation Skills, and Group Discussions. The BGSIT Training & Placement Cell trains the students in business correspondence, effective vocabulary, presentation skills & soft skills.

BGS Institute of Technology has a 21 acre campus in Mandya whereas the Bangalore campus of BTI spans over 15-17 acres. BGSIT is located in semi-urban area whereas BTI is located in the urban area. Both colleges offer hostel facility to students. Both colleges have well-equipped labs. While BGSIT campus offers more greener spaces, the BTI campus has the advantage of better connectivity.

BGS Institute of Technology offers B.E. in Computer Science whereas Veamana Institute of Technology offers B.E. in Computer Science as well as B.E. CSE (Data Science) & B.E. CSE (Cyber Security). Therefore, Vemana Institute offers more B.E. CSE specialisations.

In 2025, Sambhram Institute of Technology was ranked 182 by The Week where as BGS Institute of Technology was given the rank of 264 by The Week. So, Sambhram Institute of Technology is ranked better than BGSIT.

The total tuition fee for undergraduate engineering programs at BGSIT range from INR 4 Lacs to INR 10.4 lakh. The data for the average package offered for B.E. courses is not available. But the NIRF report shows that the median package is INR 4 LPA. This means that atleast 50% students would earn INR 4 Lacs in one year. So the ROI depends upon the particular course you are doing and on your individual performance.

The placement records for BGSIT show that the placement trend for undergradaute engineering programme has improved over the years. While the percentage of students placed has improved from 93% in 2022-2023 to 99% in 2023-2024, the median salary has jumped from INR 3.36 Lacs in 2021-2022 to INR 4 Lacs in 2023-2024.

BGSIT, ACU associates with many recruitment partners to facilitate campus placements for its students. Some of the companies that offer campus placements at BGSIT, ACU are HP, L&T Infotech, TCS, Accenture, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Capegemini.

The admission to B.E. courses in BGSIT is done through the KEA CET/ COMEDK UGET counselling processes. There are some Management quota seats that BGSIT can offer for admission at its own discretion. To get direct admission, the candidates have to fulfill the basic eligibility criteria of the course and apply directly to the college. The number of management quota seats are subject to the discretion of the college and availability of vacancy. It is subject to change.
