Admission to the B.Tech is based on the score of JEE Mains and JEE advance score or any other entrance exam according to the college and the candidate should have a minimum of 70% in 10+2 grade. It depends on the merit list of the year released by the college every year. The minimum cut-off to get admission to SVBP usually ranges from 99.73 for Computer Engineering, 99.15 for electronics, and 99.65 for computer Science and engineering. Candidates can take admission by searching for the merit list on the college portal followed by counselling. Candidates can submit the fees for securing a seat in the college.

A total of 582 seats are available for BTech students at CGC University. Mojority of seats are available  for CSE branch which is 180. For BTech civil engineering Lateral Entry, a total of 12 seats are available.

Admission to BTech course is based on WBJEE/ JEE Main score followed by a WBJEE Counselling. Aspirants first need to apply for BTech on the official website. Candidates who have qualified WBJEE/ JEE Main can provide their score for the selection process. Candidates who have completed Class 12 in relevant subjects with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for reserved category) are eligible to apply for the BTech course. Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University reserves seat for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC as per the guidelines of the Central Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act 2006 of the Government of India.
