The primary role of the cell is to prepare the students for placement opportunities, interviews, negotiations, etc. Further, for evaluating the placements' performance, one can refer to the NIRF report on the 2024 placement:
- The 464 UG, 4,015 PG, and 28 integrated PG students were placed in the academic year 2023.
- The median package for UG (3-year) courses was INR 9.20 LPA.
- For BTech and BA LLB courses, the median package stood at INR 10 LPA and INR 8 LPA, respectively.

The BTech stream-wise placement data has not been made public by the university. Based on the aggregate data presented in the NIRF report 2024, 199 students were placed at the Calcutta University BTech placements in 2023, out of 289 total. The placement rate is now 69% as a result. Previously, in 2022, 305 out of 357 BTech graduates found employment.

- The median package offered to BA LLB and PG (2-year) students during placements 2022 was 7.84 Lacs per annum and 9.20 Lacs per annum, respectively.

The University has not released the 2026 placement report or brochure yet. However, the NIRF report 2026 is out, which includes course-wise placement data for 2025. To download the report, students can visit the official website of the University and click on the NIRF link available on the homepage. The official website encloses the NIRF report for recent academic years. Click on the NIRF report 2026. Download and save it for future reference.
