You must successfully pass the Civil Services Examination (CSE), which is administered by the Union Public Services Commission UPSC in order to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). Hello Sk, It's good that you've made your choice and are dedicating yourself towards it. Actually many people take career breaks while preparing for CAT exam and even the interviewers understand that, given you are able to correctly justify your career break. The interviews may ask you the reason and you can simply state the reason, of course in not such a simple manner but in a better structured and confident way.
