The PGPBM course offered at IIM Trichy is similar to the flagship PGP course offered at the main IIM Trichy campus. The PGPBM course and PGP course are similar in terms of core courses, credits and faculty profile. In addition to this, MBA degree is awarded to students after the successful completion of PGPBM course from IIM Trichy Chennai Campus.

Yes, IIM Trichy Chennai Campus encourages entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals to take admission to the PGPBM course. However, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria and should have at-least three years of work experience to apply for the PGPBM course at IIM Trichy Chennai Campus.

The PGPBM course offered by IIM Trichy Chennai Campus is primarily designed for working professionals who want to move the corporate ladder and reach to a senior management and leadership position. However, no placement assistance is given by the Institute after completing the PGPBM course.
Therefore, if someone is looking just for placement, this course might not help. On the other hand, if someone is looking to upgrade his/her management skills and reach to a senior leadership position, pursuing PGPBM course from IIM Trichy Chennai Campus will be a huge plus.

- IMU's Common Entrance Test (CET): Candidates are required to appear for the centralized test conducted by the university, namely IMU CET, for admission to the B.Tech programme in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering
- GATE Scores: Candidates with GATE Scores in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture are exempted from IMU's CET for admission to the B.Tech program
