Admission to the MBA programme at Guwahati University is solely determined by a student's merit, both as an undergraduate and as a result of their performance on the national and university entrance exams. The university administers its own admissions exam. However, individuals who have passed national entrance exams, such as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT, and have a score of at least 75 percentile, are excluded from taking the exam. For final selection, candidates who pass any of the aforementioned exams must proceed via GD and PI rounds.

Also, students need to fulfill the university's minimal eligibility requirements, which include passing a pertinent undergraduate degree with an aggregate of at least 50%. 

Tezpur University admission 2024 is open for the PG, MBA, and PhD programmes. The admission process is completely entrance-based for all its UG, PG, and doctoral-level courses. The university accepts admission through various national-level & university-level entrance exams,  such as CUET-UG, TUEE, JEE-Main, CAT, etc. Tezpur University also offers programme under ODL (Open and Distance Learning). ODL admission 2024 is open for programmes in MA and diploma.

Tezpur University offers over 28 UG, PG, diploma, doctoral, and certificate programmes in various fields, such as Engineering, Arts, Science, and Commerce via its four schools, including the School of Sciences, School of Management Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Engineering. 

 According to the Engineering NIRF report 2024 released by NIT Silchar, the median package offered during BTech and MTech placements 2023 stood at INR 13.95 LPA and INR 6 LPA, respectively. A total of 123 students were placed out of 140 eligible students during BTech Mechanical placements 2023. Further, the placement rate recorded during MTech ME (CAD-CAM & Automation) placements in 2023 was 100%. Further, a total of 52 companies visited the campus and the highest package offered during M.Tech ME placements 2023 stood at INR 11.7 LPA. Earlier, the the highest package offered during NIT Silchar EIE  (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) placements 2022 stood at INR 44 LPA and the placement rate recorded was 92.45%.

Further, a total of 694 students were placed out of 823 students during NIT Silchar BTech placements 2023. Earlier, the the highest and average package offered during NIT Silchar placements 2022 stood at INR 44 LPA and INR 13.58 LPA, respectively. Further, more than 94 companies visited the campus and 397 students were placed during NIT Silchar placements 2022. Apart from this, the top recruiters during NIT Silchar placements 2022 included Amazon, Microsoft and Adobe.

The selection between these two colleges gets a little difficult as both are reputed colleges running under the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) umbrella. For the college comparison, students should consider factors like infrastructure, faculty, placements, facilities, etc.
