Assam NEET PG counselling 2025 is likely to begin in the fourth week of September 2025. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Assam has released the Assam NEET PG 2025 Counselling Merit List. It consists of the names of 3,035 candidates, who are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Assam NEET PG 2025 counselling process will be the admission gateway to postgraduate medical courses for the 50 per cent State Quota seats offered in the state of Assam. 

Assam NEET PG 2025 counselling will be conducted in online mode. Assam NEET PG counselling 2025 participants have to register on the official website, dme.assam.gov.in. As part of registration, candidates have to provide NEET PG rank, personal, academic and contact details. Based on the registrations received, DME Assam will release the Assam NEET PG counselling 2025 merit list, consisting of details of eligible candidates.

Around three to four rounds of counselling will be held for seat allotment. The number will increase based on the number of vacant seats. Eligible candidates will have to submit seat and course choices within the deadline. Seats will be allotted based on state rank, choice declared, seats available in particular colleges and courses, reservation factors etc. It must be noted that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will hold counselling for 50% of All India Quota seats, while the state counselling authority conducts counselling for the rest of the 50 per cent seats.

Assam PG NEET Counselling 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria for Assam NEET PG admission. Some of the eligibility criteria have been listed below:

  • Domicile: Candidates must be permanent residents of the State.

  • Academic Qualification: They should have an MBBS pass certificate from any college/institute/university affiliated with the Medical Council of India.

  • Internship: Candidates must have completed a 1-year internship within the stipulated date as stated by NMC.

  • Registration Certificate: Candidates should have obtained a medical registration certificate from the NMC or State Medical Council (SMC).

  • Minimum Cutoff: Scoring the minimum cutoff marks in NEET PG is mandatory to participate in the counselling process for seat allotment.

Assam NEET PG 2025 Application Form

DME will release the Assam NEET PG 2025 application form online. Candidates will have to submit NEET PG 2025 details, including rank, personal information, and contact details, as part of the registration process. It must be noted that only those who qualify for NEET PG can apply online for Assam NEET PG admission. Applicants also have to pay fees, both refundable and non-refundable fee to submit the application form for Assam NEET PG admission. The registration fee is non-refundable, while the security deposit is refunded after admission.

Assam NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Merit List

DME releases a merit list of candidates who applied for Assam NEET PG counselling for seat allotment. The merit list is released online, comprising details such as name, category, marks scored in NEET PG, All India Rank, State rank, etc. It must be noted that the merit list only includes candidates whose applications are received by the deadline. Candidates shortlisted in the merit list are deemed eligible for Assam NEET PG Counselling. They have to fill in preferences for choices and lock them within the given dates.

Assam NEET PG Counselling Process

Assam NEET PG Counselling starts with the registration and submission of the application form. In addition, it also includes the declaration of merit list, choice filling and locking, seat allotment result, and reporting. The counselling will be held for the allocation of around 652 MD/MS and diploma seats.

Assam NEET PG 2025 Choice Filling

Candidates included in the merit list have to declare choices for courses and colleges for Assam NEET PG seat allotment. The choice filling has to be done by registered candidates on the official website. They have to log in with the registration number and password and declare choices. Candidates also have to lock the choices till the last date otherwise, it gets locked automatically after the deadline. Seats are allotted based on different criteria, including choices declared and NEET PG rank. Seat allotment result is released separately for each round of Assam NEET PG counselling.

The Assam NEET PG 2025 seat allotment result will be released by DME Assam in online mode, in PDF format. The seat allotment will be done based on the choices entered by candidates and their merit position, as well as the institute or course intake and cutoff scores or rank.

The last and final step for Assam NEET PG 2025 counselling is institute reporting and document verification. After the seat allotment result is declared, and candidates decide to accept the seat, they have to visit the allotted institute with the requisite documents for verification. After that, they have to pay the requisite fee amount to confirm the admission process.

  • 50% State quota seats

  • 100% seats in private colleges

No, the Assam NEET PG counselling application form will be available in online mode only. Candidates will have to visit the official website of DME Assam to register and then fill and submit the choices. Applications sent by post, or any other mode, will not be accepted.
