To apply for the post of Assistant Professor, you must have the UGC NET qualification. As KIIT University is listed in UGC approved universities, you may apply for the NET exam 2018.
If you qualify the exam as top 6% candidates, you can apply for lectureship in this university/college.

Chandigarh University has no entrance test. It varies as per the choice of course you select. University is adjudged as the best in terms of placement.

Develop/follow your interest: Here interest means having sound understanding in anything like politics, entrepreneurship, financial markets, automobiles, gaming, etc.
Focus on academics: Try to score as much CPI as possible (aim for 10).

The only factor on which I can compare VIT and IIIT-H is the fees. Both the college have the fees around Rs 2 lakhs/annum.
For the rest of factors, there is no comparison.
P.S. Don't go blindly with the rank if you have seen published by some local survey.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or AME is a very important course that enables a student to obtain license from DGCA to work on passenger aircraft as maintenance person.
