At Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the idea is quite different from typical Indian degrees.

Key features:

  • You don't get locked into one stream early — you can mix subjects (like economics + psychology + data science).
  • Strong focus on critical thinking, writing, and communication, not just exams.
  • More discussion-based classes, projects, and real-world exposure.
  • Option to explore before choosing a major/minor.

How it's different:

  • Most universities in India are rigid (fixed syllabus, one field).
  • TSLA (S) is more flexible and interdisciplinary — closer to US-style education.
  • Focus is on how you think, not just what you study.

For Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, there isn't one single fixed “last date” for all master's programs — it changes by course (M.Tech, MBA, MCA, MSc) and rounds.

Usually:

  • Applications open around March–April
  • Last dates fall around June–July (with multiple rounds/extended deadlines)

Best move: apply as early as possible because seats fill in rounds.

At Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, both are good — just different paths.

COE/CE (Computer Engineering):

  • More coding-focused
  • Better placement stats overall
  • Easier path into software roles

ECE (Electronics & Communication):

  • Mix of electronics + coding
  • Slightly tougher academically
  • Good options in both core + IT (many still go into software)

Simple take:
If you're sure about coding/tech jobs → CE is the safer bet
If you want flexibility or interest in electronics → ECE is solid

Most ECE students still end up in IT roles, but CE gives you a more direct advantage.

Starting at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology? You'll be fine — just don't overcomplicate it.
First few months, focus on settling in. Make friends in your hostel and class — that circle matters a lot more than people think.
Don't ignore academics from day one. It is easy to get carried away early but CGPA matters later for placements and internships.
Explore clubs and societies, but don't join everything. Pick 1-2 you actually enjoy and stay consistent.
Start building a skill early (coding, core subject, whatever your branch needs). Even 30–40 mins daily go a long way.
And honestly don't compare too much. Everyone looks s

There's no fixed “marks” cutoff for Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology — it works on percentile/rank, and it changes every year.

Rough idea based on trends:

  • CSE / COE → ~95–97+ percentile
  • ENC / ECE → ~90–95 percentile
  • Mechanical / Electrical → ~85–92 percentile
  • Civil / Chemical / Biotech → ~70–85 percentile

Marks vary each paper, so focus on percentile. Also, Thapar has a board marks quota, so strong 12th % can help.

You don't need a perfect score — mid 80s–90s percentile can still get you in.

Yes, applications for B.Ed at LPU remain open right now for the 2026 session. Check eligibility—typically a bachelor's degree with 50% marks—and apply online via the official site with CUET scores if needed, followed by document verification. Admissions proceed on merit through LPUNEST or qualifying exams in ongoing cycles, so act promptly as seats fill fast. Other universities follow similar timelines too.

With a JEE Mains Paper 2 score of 109 and 72% in 12th, securing a B.Arch seat at LPU looks feasible. LPU accepts JEE Paper 2 scores in place of NATA, and your 12th marks exceed the minimum 50% aggregate (with Maths) requirement for eligibility. Apply soon through their portal before the July 31, 2026 deadline to confirm availability based on seats. Strong placements in architecture add value without overlooking other solid options elsewhere.

LPU's B.Ed program sees decent placement outcomes, with the highest package reaching INR 8 LPA and an average of INR 5.85 LPA for the top 10% of students. Over 30 recruiters participated, offering around 28 positions in schools, coaching centers, and educational roles. Strong student performance and skills drive better opportunities, though packages vary widely based on individual merit. Recent drives have shown consistent support through training and internships with up to INR 25,000 monthly stipend.

Yes, an entrance exam is required for B.Des at Lovely Professional University. Most students appear for LPUNEST, which is LPU's own entrance test. In some cases, valid scores of exams like UCEED or NID are also accepted. Along with this, your 10+2 marks are considered, but the entrance score usually plays an important role in both admission and scholarship.

A comparison of the cost of pursuing a MBA at Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Guru Kashi University (GKU) Bathinda, the fee structure of both institutions is different, although LPU has good value added learning in terms of scholarship and the general academic advantages. At LPU, an MBA fee would normally be between INR 5.8 Lacs and INR 11 Lacs to complete the course in different specializations. Nevertheless, LPU allows high scholarships according to academic excellence, entrance examination, etc., and the total cost may be decreased considerably.

By contrast, GKU Bathinda MBA fee is lower on paper and normally costs bet
