The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process is used by SKR Engineering College in Chennai to admit students to its B.E./B.Tech programs.  A minimum of 45% in 10+2 Physics, Chemistry, and Math is required for eligibility.  Marks from the qualifying exam are taken into consideration during the merit-based selection process.

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. Cape Institute of Technology offers only BTech, and MTech courses. The basic eligibility criteria for each course require the student to have a minimum of 45% in the previous qualification. Along with this, the student needs to have a minimum valid score in TNEA counseling or GATE for admission to BTech and MTech, respectively. Candidates meeting all the admission requirements can apply by appearing for the respective counseling. Around 35% of the seats are reserved for direct admission.
