The course undertaken from any institute should prepare you to be employable with the skills. I would suggest that, you can compare universities offering the same course and figure out which one is better. You can compare Masters in industrial and operations engineering offered by University of Michigan Ann Arbor with that of Masters of industrial and systems engineering offered by San Jose State University. You can look to find out the research opportunities and practical exposure given to students.

San Jose State University does not offer Masters in MIS.
In general, this course does not require work experience, however having some experience will be an advantage down the lane.
You can refer to the below mentioned links:

You need to decide the program and need to apply online through their application link. Check the admission requirements of the university for that program and then go ahead.

Harvard is the best option. But if I ever have a situation like this then I will choose IIT because only India is producing quality engineers every year more than any country. So there should be some reason behind why all the big companies hire IITians and Indians at good posts.
Just think about this as well while making any decision.

It depends on the profile, one would definitely target decent ranked university to maximise the chance of ROI. More importantly, once should look for class size, curriculum, outcome of the problem, faculty, research lab, innovation etc. rather the university ranking, Standard of your profile in terms of project, research publish, academic excellence are key to look for better ranked university.

Your GRE score is fine. However, percentage is bit low. Overall, this university is a little ambitious for you.

Dear Akshatha,
The MS program in MIS offered by UTA is a 33 credits programs (non thesis) and therefore can be completed in two years. If you can take 11 credits in one semester then you may complete the program in 1.5 years. Work experience (2 years) is recommended for admissions to this program. In case you are a fresher, the program might be competitive for you. Hope this helps!
