To become a Criminal Lawyer you first need to complete your basic education (10+2). Then clear any law entrance exam like CLAT or LSAT and take admission in LLB, where you can focus on electives and subjects related to Criminal Law. After getting a LLB degree you can then specialise in Criminal Law while pursing LLM. Once you complete your legal education, then you need obtain a liscence (COP- Certificate of Practice) after passing AIBE exam, conducted by the Bar Council of India.

You can study humanities with the correct subject combination. At least three subjects from History, Political Science, Geography, and economics. One language preferably English. Humanities with the correct subject combination are best for CLAT. If you wish to BBA LL.B. In the future from NLU than it is better to study economics in 11th and 12th.
1 year of serious preparation is enough to score well in CLAT. Also try to read newspapers, constitutions ( books like M. Lakshimikant), current affairs. Best wishes.

To become a criminal lawyer, you have to do law. Otherwise, you will not be able to practice. You can study criminology as an additional subject or choose it in advanced years of law.
