Certificates are generally different than diplomas - first these are short term courses (sometimes hourly) and also because they are given out to students who have passed a particular course of study not necessarily related to high school graduation requirements.
Diploma programs offer a more in-depth curriculum than a certificate, they are for a longer period depending on the course. But they are not at par with the degree.
Now coming to FTI Hyderabad - Certificate course is for 60 hours whereas Diploma is a 3 months course in Acting course.

Merely scoring good marks in class 10th will not get you admission in Diploma courses in Maharashtra, at least in government colleges. Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education working under DTE of Tech Edu conducts an entrance exam. To get admission in VJTI, a student needs to score really well as this prestigious institution is the primary choice of many students.
Best wishes to you.
