Instead of doing job, you should go for engineering. You can for B.Tech (3 years) through lateral entry. Diploma holders in any stream are eligible to take admission, in the second year of the course. They must have done their Diploma after class 10th (3 year)with minimum 50% marks or after class 12th (2 year) and they need to qualify LEET. Various engineering colleges in India also offer direct admission to Diploma holders in second year of the course and in reputed institutes, after completing Diploma student gets entry in second year of B.Tech through LEET. Some private institutes like BITS Pilani, VIT, LPU University etc. Conduct their separate entrance test. Top colleges/ universities are: DTU, BITS

Why not, you can. If you have completed class 10th, eligibility criteria for taking admission through lateral entry is to pass with 50% aggregate marks in class 10th, subject to qualifying entrance exam. Some institutes give direct admission to students on the basis of their marks in class 10th. You can do it from: DTU, PTU, UPTU
