By short-term, I mean around 6–8 months, which is usually enough to build a strong foundation and practical understanding of the field. Regardless of your current knowledge level, starting from scratch is perfectly fine—especially since most reputed courses guide you step by step through SEO, social media, email marketing, content creation, and campaign management. The reason why it's better to go for a short term course for something like Digital Marketing

Typically in Distance BBA you will learn subjects like Principles of Management, Business Communication, Financial Accounting, Business Economics in first year, then you will be taught Organizational Behavior, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management in the second year of the programme and in the last year you will be learning about Financial Management, Operations Management, Business Ethics & Corporate Governance, etc.
