The acceptance rate of Duke University is 6%, and the Harvard University acceptance rate is 4%. There is a very slight difference in the acceptance rate, which prove both universities are highly tough to enter. Students should perform good in studies, fulfill the basic qualification, and submit all documents to get a chance in either of two.

For the year 2026, Duke University admissions are test-optional. This means that the students do not really need to submit these scores but it gives an applicant an advantage if they do.
So, 1480 is not a bad score but not nearly good enough for Duke University. Applicants who get in have an average SAT score of 1550 out of 1600.
The students should not be discouraged, though, this university looks at the holistic profile of a student and then comes to a decision. The factors given below might just change their decision -
- Engaging essays
- Extracurriculars showing leadership skills
- A near-perfect GPA
