No, high school passed candidates apply for admission to ITI and Diploma only. They will be eligible for Electrical Engineering admission after completing Class 12/Diploma/ITI. To pursue Diploma in Electrical Engineering, candidate must have completed Class 10th with at least 50% and cleared Diploma Entrance Exam. Therefore, high school students can only pursue Diploma or ITI in the field of Electrical Engineering and not any other course.

Bachelor of Engineering (BE)/Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical Engineering is a four years programme. Minimum eligibility criteria to pursue Electrical Engineering (BTech) is class 12 pass in PCM/PCMB subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised school or university or equivalent. To pursue Electrical Engineering at post graduate level, the candidate must have a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering.

Yes, any candidate can opt for the subject of his/her wish, however it is advised to candidates that they should choose the subject based on the grounds of their graduation and the course they want to study after clearing the GATE exam

With above mentioned rank you have limited options for NITs. However, few NITs you can get for B.Tech Electrical Engineering are:
- NIT Arunachal Pradesh for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering
- NIT Manipur for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering
- NIT Mizoram for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering
However, all these institutes need a minimum of 75% in class 12th in PCM from a recognised university.

Yes, IIT Ropar offers good placements to the students of EE department. BTech EE placement highlights 2025 are presented below:

According to the Delhi Technological University Placement report 2023, the highest package offered to BTech and MTech students was INR 82.05 LPA and INR 51.03 LPA, respectively. For the Netaji Subhas University of Technology, the median package offered to B.Tech and M.Tech students during the 2023 placements was INR 17 LPA and INR 15 LPA, respectively. According to me, you should go for DTU. NSUT is acknowledged for CSE. ECE at DTU will be a better option.

Yes, it is easy to get admission to B.Tech in Electrical Engineering at Kalinga University. For admission, you juust need to have at least 45% marks in class 12th( 40% of SC/ST) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any of the following subjects: Chemistry, BioTechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational Subject.
