JEE Mains is not considered in here. You' have a different test to give. There is a cutoff for that, if you pass, you'll get in.

1) The latest press release by MHRD mentioned that performance of 12th class will be required only for eligibility for admission in IIT, NIT and similar institutes.
2) For the candidates to qualify in the JEE Examination, they shall have secured
At least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by respective boards. For SC/ST students this condition shall be relaxed to 65% marks. 12thboards marks will not be given 40% weightage in 2017 for calculation of ranks as in the selection criteria for admission in an IIT for 2016.
3) Rest of the selection process will remain unchanged for admission in IITs

After doing M.Tech you can go for research of can apply for different jobs and if you have interest in business field then you must go for MBA i.e. you must give CAT and various other management exams. The best option according to me is that you start preparing for GATE 2019 and try to get AIR rank 200.

Do the groundwork. Always read standard textbooks once during your B.Tech or after your B.Tech, before writing GATE. Prepare good quality notes. Revision is the key. Use previous years' GATE questions as practice materials. Attempt 'lots' of mock tests.

Hello Sankaran,
There is a role for the marks of 11th and 12th or rather 12th. This is so since all engineering colleges prescribe certain minimum marks to be obtained in 12th before you are granted admission in those Institutions. In a peculiar situation if you have scored say only 40% marks in 12 but is within top 100 in an entrance exam you may not get admission. For getting admission in IITs, the minimum marks prescribed for 12th or equivalent is 75%.
