If you have cleared the JEE Mains cut-off then it could be possible. But if you have not cleared the cut-off, you may or may not, but you may get a government college of your state.

Unfortunately, no. The demand for CSE is higher and it requires at least 98.5% marks or above 150 marks in JEE. Try in other universities.

Difference between IIT JAM and GATE:
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India entrance exam which allows candidates to apply for IITs, NITs, IISc, and a few other applied sciences institutes/universities. GATE exam can only be given by the candidates with applied Science degrees like B.E and B.Tech, to pursue M.Tech and M.Sc. By research, integrated Ph.D and direct Ph.D programs. IIT JAM (Joint Admission test for M.Sc) is an all India entrance exam which allows candidates to apply for IITs, IISERs, IISc, and NITs. Hello Adyasha, The admission at NITs is based on JEE Mains score only and not JEE Advanced. So if you have a good score in Mains, then you can get a seat. All the best.

Finish your syllabus as soon as possible and start solving lots and lots of questions. This will help you crack JEE Mains with a decent score. Give all india tests conducted by various institutes. This will help you improve your speed and mistakes.

It only depends on your dedication level. If you think you can stay focused for another year and believe yourself then you should drop a year and try again. But if you are doubtful then I suggest you not to drop and waste time and not be focused as it will not benefit you in any way.
