Anna University is the main conducting authority which organizes a state level entrance exam called as Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). The application form will be available from the first week of May 2017. Some other university level entrance tests are SRMJEEE, AEEE, VITEEE, etc. Students can also apply for JEE Main for admission into engineering courses in Tamil Nadu. So, if you want to do engineering in Tamil Nadu start preparing for this entrance exams.

Dear Ankit,
MIT, Pune take direct admission.
It does not allow JEE Mains.
If you want to go in MIT Pune, then fill MHT CET form and prepared for it.
MHT CET is very low level.

Try in Private Colleges, State Level Exams, etc.
And, if you don't get success, then opt for B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics.
And, if you don't want to do normal graduation then opt for BCA etc.

For a decent branch in a good NIT, one should score a minimum marks of around 180-200 marks for general category.

VIT is a slot based system, so according to your rank, they divide you into the respective slots. There are 4 slots, each different in the fees. So, the rank of 1 to 20000 come in the first slot with scholarships, so probably you will get any branch in VIT, but it all comes down to the fees which You are going to pay each year.
