ITNU accepts JEE or GUJCET scores for admissions in BTech. Candidates need to give either of exams and secure an All India Rank. After exam results are announced, counselling process is being conducted for allocation of seats. The seat allocation is purely based on merit rank secured by candidate in respective exam. Counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. Cutoff is generally higher in first few rounds of counselling.

The cutoff for Chemical Engineering at Nirma Institute is generally between 2000-2500. The competition has been increased over past three years. Earlier, students could take admissions at a rank of around 7244. Competition in Chemical Engineering is neither very high nor very low.
