With 87% in JEE Mains and 84.2% in your HS exam, you will expect admission into state-level engineering colleges, private universities such as Amity or Sharda, and lower-grade NITs or IIITs if your category rank holds good. In the case of NITs and IIITs, cutoff depends on the branch and category, with general category cutoff being generally above 93 percentile. You can also look into GFTIs and colleges under JoSAA counseling. They usually provide fixed cutoffs and direct admissions on the basis of JEE marks or HS scores. See official counseling websites for exact options.

To get the admission in IIT Chennai for Gen EWS, you must get the best rank in JEE Mains advanced and you must pass the IIT Madras cutoff which changes every year. The rank of JEE Advanced will determine the seat. For GEN EWS process you must take part in JoSAA Counseling and finish the admission process.

It is bit difficult to get admission for someone in COEP with a rank of 146k in JEE Mains. For OBC candidates, the rank should be below 40k to get admission in COEP but other reserved candidates can get the admission with 146k rank. Other engineering schools with higher cutoffs can be worth.
