The lateral entry scheme is only for the Diploma holder candidates and they will get direct admission in second year. A lateral entry student is the one who directly enters into the second year of engineering. He/she must have completed a Diploma in the respective branch to be eligible for the lateral entry programme. After completing their Diploma, they write a special examination for enrollment in the institute.

B.Tech CS is superior degree in comparison to B.Sc. CS or IT. You can get job of developer or tester in Small or Medium IT companies after B.Sc. CS or IT. MNC or Large IT companies prefers B.Tech CS or MCA or M.Sc. CS/IT grads. If these companies offer you job, then it will be below B.Tech graduates scale and with lower salary. You will take few years' experience to get fresh B.Tech graduation salary and grade in companies.
