ME, ECE, EE are core branches. They are perfect if you want to study software plus hardware things. And mainly if you want to go in government job you should choose these streams. But if you want to go at software companies you should choose CSE branch.

In computer Science branch you only deals with the computer. I. e. the motive of this branch is to make you the master in Computers! Basically in this branch you learn to develop software and applications. Basically you only deal with the software not with the hardware parts and items you have in computer. EC you deals with software as well as with the hardware parts of the computer system. Both are same in there domain.

As per going with current trends and the upcoming future, CSE branch will continue to flourish than any other branches. CSE branch has relatively high placement opportunities which turns to high salary packages relatively to other branches. But there isn't any scope of CSE in government sector. For government sector jobs, ECE should be preferred over CSE any day.
