To join Polytechnique college for Diploma in Information Technology at Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad, a student must have completed 10th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics , English, and Hindi from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks. There can be some extra conditions but these are the basic requirements for admission in Polytechnique course.

No, you don't have to fill out the admission form for a particular institute. There is a single window counselling JoSAA for IITs and NIT+ systems (NITs, IIITs and GFTIs). There will be several rounds of counselling and depending on your rank, category, home state, and choice filling you will be allocated a seat in any institute (not necessary that you will be allocated a seat). After JoSAA for empty seats/unallocated seats, there will be separate counselling CSAB and you have to apply for it. There may be 2 rounds or a single round depending on the remaining empty seats. If you belongs to open category then it would be approved 1 Lacs to 1.5 Lacs, if you belong to OBC, then it would be around 50 thousand and if you belongs to SC or ST category, then it would be under 12 thousand.
