1- Electric circuits: Network elements, V and I sources, dependent sources, Network methods, theorems, transient response of dc and ac networks, sinusoidal steady-state analysis, resonance, 2-port networks, balanced 3-phase circuits, star-delta transformation, complex power.
2- Signals and Systems
Continuous and discrete time signal representation, shifting & scaling properties, linear time invariance, causal systems Fourier series representation, sampling theorem, applications of the Fourier transform, the Laplace transform, Z transform, R.M.S. value, average value calculation for any general periodic waveform.
3- Electrical Machines
Single-phase and 3-phase transformers, auto-transformers, electromechanical energy conversion principles; DC machines, speed control of DC motors, 3-phase induction machines, equivalent circuits, starting, and speed control, operating principles of single-phase induction motors; Synchronous machines: cylindrical & salient pole machines; regulation and parallel operation of generators; starting of synchronous motors.
4- Power Systems
Basic electrical power generation concepts, alternating current, and direct current transmission concepts Models and performance of transmission lines and cables, Economic load dispatch, series & shunt compensation, Electric field distribution & insulators, Distribution systems, Per-unit quantities, bus admittance matrix, Gauss-Seidel, and Newton-Raphson load flow methods, V and F Control, Power Factor Correction, Symmetrical components, Principles of over-current, differential, directional, and distance protection; circuit breakers, System stability concepts, equal area criterion.
5- Control Systems
Modeling and representation of systems, Feedback, TF, Block diagrams, signal flow graphs, Transient and steady-state analysis of LTI systems, Routh-Hurwitz and Nyquist criteria, Bode plots, root loci, lag, lead, & lead-lag compensators; P, PI, PID controllers; Solution of state equations of LTI systems.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has a two-stage process exam.
1- Written Exam: GATE/ BARC online exam.
2- Interview. Preparation strategy for Written exam: No special strategy just try to prepare for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Exam, thoroughly. For the Interview, you just need to study five subjects of your Choice. Make sure Power systems are present and Machines. Try to prepare each subject from a standard textbook. First of all, I would congratulate you for getting a good rank in JEE Mains. Well, there seems to be a slight miss-match with the general trend of ratio between OBC Rank 1338 to General Rank 48k but According to your data if the OBC Rank 1338 You can get top branches like CSE, ECE, EEE in top 7 NITs like VNIT, NITC, NITW, NITRKL, NITK or MNIT which is a very good thing! Whereas it might be slightly difficult to get CSE branch in NIT-Trichy as CSE branch in NIT-Trichy has the highest cutoff amongst all NITs but you can still aim for CSE Branch in any of these 7 NITs (except for NIT-Trichy). Now talking about IITs, you need to provide your JEE Advanced Rank as JEE Mains Score cannot give you admission to IITs.
