Manipal Institute of Technology offers, UG and PG courses namely, B.Tech, M.Tech, and M. C. A. under various specializations. B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is the flagship course of the institute. Candidates who wish to apply for the programme are required to appear in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET). Admissions to the B.Tech programme at Manipal Institute of Technology are offered through MET counselling. Seats are allocated on the basis of MET scores, availability of seats, category, and other factors. Admissions to the M.Tech programme are done on the basis of GATE/MET scores, while M. C. A admissions are based on the merit list released by the institute.
Eligibility and selection criteria for B.Tech:
The candidate should have passed 10+2
The candidate should have studied Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects and one of Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or any vocational subject as optional. The vocational subject must be related to either the chemical, civil, computer, electrical, or mechanical streams. The candidate should have scored 50% marks. The candidate should have taken the MET for selection
Those who qualify the MET will have to go for MET counselling. After five rounds of counselling, the selections will be made.

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal is the first self-financing engineering college in India. The institute has been ranked 51 among the top engineering colleges in India by NIRF 2021. At present, MIT Manipal offers, UG and PG courses namely, B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA B.Tech is the flagship course of Manipal Institute of Technology, and admissions to the same are done on the basis of scores in the Manipal Entrance Test MET followed by counselling. MIT Manipal is also known for its placements as it provides excellent job opportunities to its students. In the recent placement drive of 2021, the highest package offered was INR 43.31 LPA and the average package was INR 8.8 LPA. Accenture, Capgemini, Cleartax, Dell, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, HPE, L&T, MyGate, and TCS are some of the top recruiters at Manipal Institute of Technology. Hope it helps.

Placement records are good but a bit inconsistent, average placement record is around 80%. The highest package offered is 21Lakhs per annum, the lowest package offered is 1.5 Lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 4-5 Lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc. From 7th semester students are eligible for placements, there are lots of companies visiting every year for IT and Non-IT students. The highest package was 21 LPA provide by silver peak. Placements are pretty good for Computer Science students, but mechanical branch placements are average. 7th semester is the earliest you can apply for a job although there are 8 semesters. Majority placements are in corporates of Information Technology. Fees is affordable for those who came through government quota. Management quota seats were expensive and had no scope for scholarships. There were no scholarships on offer for general category students which is sad.
