Hi,
There are quite a few colleges in Mumbai which offers fashion designing courses:
1 - NIFT Mumbai: National institute of designing is a government college. It's the second the best college for fashion designing after NIFT, New Delhi. It offers a Bachelor's of design degree. It's a four years course. They provide excellent quality education and good career opportunities. Their course curriculum is same as of FIT New York. The eligibility for this course is: 12th with a minimum percentage of 55 in any stream. There are many types of courses in fashion designing field.
First is B.Des i.e., Bachelor of Designing which most of the design students wish to pursue. It is a 4-year course under the branch you choose which can be apparel, footwear, accessories, automobile, furniture, interior designing, etc.
Second is BA in fashion designing which is simply Bachelor of Arts in fashion designing. It is a 3-year course where one studies the basics of every possible branch of fashion designing.

Hi,
Yes, upto an extend, one can do that but you should't depend on that temporary job too much. You should atlest have 50% of the fee before pursuing fashion designing course because fashion designing is an expensive course all over the world. Or, you can try for the scholarships.

There are no specific institutes which can make you AIEED ready. You will have to study on your own.
It is always best to start preparing for an exam as early as possible.
This means being alert in classes, during discussions of relevance to those papers, paying attention to details and doing something to remember and be able to recollect and reproduce details and matters and designs that have seemed important to you.

Yes, there are quite a few exams for Design entrance apart from NIFT and UCEED. You can apply for the following colleges also:1 - NID (National Institute of Design)
2 - NIIFT
3 - PEARL ACADEMY
4 - UID (United world institute of Design)
5 - IID (Indian institute of art and Design)
6 - WSD (World school of Design)
7 - TDV (The design village)
8 - Arch Academy of Design
9 - Chitkara University
10 - FDDI
