The average starting salary for an undergraduate from FIT is around $40,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on the major. While this is enough to live in New York City, it would require careful budgeting, sharing an apartment, and avoiding expensive areas. It may be tight at first, but it's manageable, and salaries usually grow with experience.
