GIBS Business School has opened a new campus featuring the latest learning areas and infrastructure specifically intended to enhance both textbooks and the workplace environment of students. Among the features of this new campus is:

Smart Classrooms:

• Classrooms using technology-enabled classrooms that are well-equipped with all needed audio-visual systems, computers and projectors, etc., will be used for classes to facilitate engaging and technology-supported instruction.

Seminar Halls:

• This new GIBS campus has extensive, fully furnished seminar halls to support instructional delivery (workshops, presentation styles, guest lecturers, etc.), student seminars and interactive instruction.

Auditoriums:

• A new, expansive, centrally located auditorium that will be used for large gatherings, corporate-style events, conferences, convocation, and cultural programs.

Learning Spaces:

• There are also several other learning areas within this new facility, including discussion rooms and collaboration areas for students to work on group assignments, case studies, or brainstorming sessions.

In short, these facilities provide opportunities for students to develop academically and through extracurriculars. At Global Institute of Business Studies (GIBS Bangalore), syndicate groups are basically small student teams.

How they function :

When you join, students are divided into small groups. Each group usually has mixed students — different backgrounds, different strengths. This helps everyone learn from each other.

In these syndicate groups, you will:

• Do case study discussions

• Work on assignments

• Prepare presentations

• Take part in projects

• Practice group activities

It helps you improve teamwork, leadership, communication, and coordination. Since MBA is all about working in teams in corporate life, this system prepares you for that.

Now about changing groups —

Generally, groups are fixed at the beginning so that bonding and team understanding becomes strong. It's done purposely so you learn how to adjust and work with different types of people (just like in real companies).

But in special cases, if there is a genuine issue, management may look into it. It's not something that changes frequently, because the idea is to build long-term teamwork.

In simple casual way — syndicate groups at GIBS are like your mini corporate team inside college. You grow together, work together, and learn together. 

At Global Institute of Business Studies (GIBS Bangalore), entrance exams like:

• Common Admission Test (CAT)

• Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

• Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)

• Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)

are important… but not everything.

They first check your score or percentile. If it's decent, that's good. You don't always need a super high score. They just want to see that you have basic aptitude.

But that's not the only thing they look at.

They also see:

• Your past marks (10th, 12th, degree)

• How you speak and present yourself in the interview

• Your confidence and attitude

• Any work experience or extra activities

So basically, even if your entrance score is average, you still have a good chance if you perform well in the interview and show positive energy.

In simple words — GIBS looks at your overall personality, not just your exam marks. 

GIBS assesses applicants through their personalities and overall potential, not just through academic performance. Under the conditions established by each candidate's respective entrance exam scores and previous academics, GIBS also takes into consideration communication abilities, confidence, demonstration of leadership ability, and clearly defined career objectives using group discussion and personal interview.

Analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, teamwork, flexible approach to situations, and a positive attitude are also substantial factors in the admission decision at GIBS. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, are willing to learn, and possess good interpersonal relations will receive added consideration. All candidates will be selected not only based upon academic ability as indicated by prior study but on the candidate's mindset and motivation to be successful within the competitive corporate world.

GIBS Business School uses a student-centric structure to encourage and assist students in choosing their specializations. The initial portion of the programme provides students with core content from the major managerial faculty members of Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, and Analytics to allow them to gauge their strengths/interests before electing a specialization.

Students will receive personalized one-on-one advisory sessions from faculty members and career counselors to assist in the evaluation of skill sets, career aspirations, and how each of the competency-based management areas relates to specific market demand before selecting their specialization. Students will also have access to practical knowledge of the respective management competencies through various industry-related experiences, including guest speakers, industry interaction events, and internship placement.

The organisation will also provide students with information on industry trends and specific role-related requirements, enabling them to select respective competencies with long-term career growth and opportunity potential.

GIBS Business School's campus life has had a profound effect on my educational growth (academically, personally, and professionally). Constant exposure to industry professionals through guest speakers, projects, presentations, leaders, etc., helped build not only my confidence level but my career focus. The current student population provides exposure to many different backgrounds which opened up my mind to new ways of thinking while helping to develop my ability to work as a team and communicate effectively. The discipline of a structured learning process, my working with a mentor, and the environment of practical learning shifted my mindset from simply study the material required for an exam to preparing for the day-to-day challenges faced in the corporate world. Overall, the campus life experience has made me much more responsible, proactive, and clear in my mind about what I want to accomplish long-term.
