IIM Calcutta gives each of the student a stipend starting at INR 30,000 per month, which goes up to INR 35,000. Each of the student can avail of the student development grants of up to INR 65,000 for the first-year of course, and up to INR 25,000 for subsequent years. Moreover, the stipend and grants are facilitated for four years. However, it can be extended up to one or more years based on demonstration of enough progress in dissertation work. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta offers a two-year PGP (also referred to as MBA) as its flagship programme. It is not possible to determine a candidate's admission in IIM Calcutta MBA course through CAT score alone. In Stage 1, a score 85% in CAT will be enough for a general category candidate to be selected for PI+WAT admission stage.

IIM Calcutta is responsible for covering 60% of the total PGPEX-VLM course curriculum. Remaining 40% of this course is covered by both IIT Kanpur and Madras in equal percentages. Candidates will cover this course in eight terms in 1170 total classes.

IIM Calcutta PGDBA course is open to any candidate who has cleared a UG or PG degree with at least 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD candidates). In 2026, admissions into this course will be managed by Indian Statistical Institute instead of IIM Calcutta itself.
