IIT Kharagpur admissions are both merit & entrance-based. The college accepts national-level entrance examinations for admission to specific programmes. The application fee is INR 500 for GE/EWS/OBC Male/ Transgender candidates and INR 250 for all Female or PwD/SC/ST candidates. Students must also pay the GATE application fee, while application. The same is as follows:

IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for admission to BTech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs are based on factors such as Category, Performance, Seats Available and Competition.

No, BTech admissions at IIT Kharagpur accept the scores of the JEE Mains entrance exam to decide a candidate's admission. The exam is followed by the JoSAA counseling to finalise the admission of a candidate. The WBJEE entrance exam is not accepted for any admissions into the IIT Kharagpur courses.
