IIT Madras BTech admission is based on the JEE Main, followed by the JEE Advanced score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which candidates are allotted seats. IIT Madras BTech course admissions are based on JEE Advanced and JEE Main scores. For admission to the flagship BTech programmes, candidates are selected based on their valid JEE-Advanced and JEE Main scores and ranks followed by the JoSAA counselling process. On the successful completion of the counselling process, the candidates are selected for the final seat allotment after the verification of documents and the tuition fee payment

Identified as an 'Institute of Eminence', the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical and research university.
