Candidates must know their eligibility criteria and apply accordingly. Follow the IIT Madras application process mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras IIT Madras to register for the JEE Main exam.

Step 2: Appear for the JEE Main exam.

Step 3: Register for the counselling.

Step 4: Pay the admission fee to the selected and the allotted college.

Chennai or anywhere, application has now become very easy as everything is done online and may rarely require physical presence.

To get the admission in IIT Chennai for Gen EWS, you must get the best rank in JEE Mains advanced and you must pass the IIT Madras cutoff which changes every year. The rank of JEE Advanced will determine the seat. For GEN EWS process you must take part in JoSAA Counseling and finish the admission process.

No, for IIT Madras, it is clear no. Candidates scoring overall CAT percentile of 70 won't be able get admission at IIT Madras. As per the IIT Madras cutoff 2024, the MBA cutoff rank stood at 85.11 for the General AI category candidates. For sectional cutoffs, the CAT percentile stood at 50

IIT Madras accepts GATE COAP exam scores to offer M.Tech courses to the candidates belonging to All India categories. During the IIT Madras M.Tech cutoff 2022, the cutoff score released between 432 and 877 for the General AI category candidates. For top programs such as CSE, Micro Electronics and VLSI Design, and Integrated Circuits and Systems, the General AI quota cutoff stood at 820, 831, and 877, respectively. For the same course, the category-wise cutoffs are presented in the table below:

First, decide where you want to pursue your master's. For it, you have to appear in some entrance exam. In India, the most common route for a master's in CS is through GATE for M.Tech programs at IITs, NITs, and IIITs. You could also explore options like IISc, ISI, and private universities like IIIT Hyderabad, and so on. Based on it, you can get into college and can purse a Master's in CS.

The mode of IIT Madras course admissions is online. IIT Madras admission to various programmes is done through national-level entrance exams including JEE Main/ JEE Advanced,  IIT JAM and GATE, among others. For admission to the flagship BTech programmes, candidates are selected based on valid JEE-Advanced ranks followed by the JoSAA counselling process. After the successful completion of the counselling process, students are greatly selected for the final seat allotment.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) belongs to the new-generation institutes of national importance in higher technical education. The college is nearly self-contained and also houses around 3,000 students as well as various families of faculty and also staff members. In 1959, IIT Madras was formally inaugurated by the Prof. Humayun Kabir, Union Minister for Scientific and Cultural Affairs. In 1961, the Chennai IITM was declared as an 'Institute of National Importance' by the Parliament of India. The college's reputation is quite good.
