IIT Madras offers a full-time MBA course that lasts two years. The PG-level programme is offered through its Department of Management Studies (DoMS). The institute also offers a Tech MBA that lasts five years. IIT Madras MBA admission is based on the CAT score, followed by the candidate's performance in the PI round, conducted by the institute across five cities. However, IIT graduates who have obtained a CGPA of 8 or above and defence personnel are exempted from the CAT scores.

IIT Madras BTech admission is based on the JEE Main, followed by the JEE Advanced score. IIT Madras BTech course admissions are based on JEE Advanced and JEE Main scores. For admission to the flagship BTech programmes, candidates are selected based on their valid JEE-Advanced and JEE Main scores and ranks followed by the JoSAA counselling process. On the successful completion of the counselling process, the candidates are selected for the final seat allotment after the verification of documents and the tuition fee payment

Taking the last-round cutoff 2024 into consideration, the JEE Advanced cutoffs were more competitive for the EWS category students. CSE was the most desirable BTech specialisation with first and last-round closing ranks of 41 and 42, respectively. The second most competitive course was Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, followed by Electrical Engineering with a closing cutoff of 104 and 178, respectively.
