Yes, IIT Madras is a good college. Identified as an 'Institute of Eminence', the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical and research university. It is the third IIT to be set up by the Government of India and is autonomous in nature.

The mode of IIT Madras course admissions is online. IIT Madras admission to various programmes is done through national-level entrance exams, including JEE MainJEE Advanced,  IIT JAM and GATE, among others. For admission to the flagship BTech programmes, candidates are selected based on valid JEE-Advanced ranks, followed by the JoSAA counselling process. On the successful completion of the counselling process, candidates are selected for the final seat allotment after the document verification and tuition fee payment.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees. All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Madras by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online.

Admission to the BTech courses offered by IIT Madras are entrance-based and done on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Seats are allocated through JoSAA counselling after the results of the entrance exams are out. Students who clear the IIT Madras BTech cutoff are then required to go through document verification and pay the required fees to complete the process.

That's a fantastic question! As a BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) student, you have a wealth of options at IISER Bangalore and IIT Madras. At IISER Bangalore, you can pursue a five-year BS-MS dual degree program, where you can major in Biology, Chemistry, or Earth and Environmental Sciences. At IIT Madras, you can apply for the four-year B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. These are excellent choices for a student with a BiPC background, offering a strong foundation in Science with opportunities for interdisciplinary studies and research.

No, the IIT Madras does not have such an integrated B.Tech + M.Tech dual degree in the field of study of "Forensic Chemistry." Although IIT Madras has several dual degree programs (B.Tech & M.Tech, or BS & MS) in engineering and Science related disciplines, and at its Chemistry department there are several faculty who have extensive experience in the field of Forensic Chemistry, the latter itself is not mentioned as a separate and special integrated option. You can think of a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or some related field (perhaps Chemistry) and then contact other universities to see whether they offer an M.Sc in Forensic Science
