IIT Palakkad takes admission into the BTech programme primarily based on the score and rank of JEE Main and JEE Advance. But, only the candidates who score at least 75% in Class 12 are eligible to sppear for JEE Advance. Hence, Candidates with 68% in Class 12 cannot take admission in BTech at IIT Palakkad.

Getting admission into IIT Palakkad is quite competitive. The college accepts score of national-level entrance exam followed by respective counselling. Check below the entrance exam required for respective courses:

  • BTech: JEE Main and Advance 
  • MTech: GATE 
  • MSc: IIT JAM

No, you cannot take direct admisison at IIT Palakkad. The college accepts valid score and rank of national-level entrance exam followed by counselling. Applicants need to appear for JEE Main and JEE Advance for taking admission in BTech programme at IIT Palakkad. For MSc, students need to qualify IIT JAM and admission to M.Tech requires GATE scores.

The students must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions into M.Tech course. They must have a valid GATE exam score. Also, they must be Indian nationals. In courses where GATE exam is not considered, students must have one of these:
1. Four- year UG degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science and Engineering 
2. A four-year UG degree in BE/Btech or MSc in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics along with GATE qualification in DA/CS/EC/EE.
