You are correct. Admission in IITs are based on All India Ranks. While admissions in NITs and GFTIs are based on various quota like home state, Other state and All India etc. So you are correct.

Yes, you can appear for the IIT JAM exam in the final year of your Bachelor's degree or after completing it. For applying in a reputed IIT or NIT for M.Sc. the requirements are economically weaker section (EWS) candidates annual family income must be less than Rs 8 Lacs per annum. His family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land. The residential flat area should be below 1000 sq ft. etc. Are the few conditions. Hence you needs all such relevant evidences/ documents for getting the benefits under the EWS category. Even if you have lost the chance to appear for JEE Mains in January, there is no need to worry since NTA will be conducting the exam again in April. There is no point in focusing on MCA after BTech from IIT. You should aim for MTech. However, if you want to do MCA then instead of BTech in IIT, you may do BCA after class 12th.
