The application fee for every course is INR 1,000 (INR 500 in the case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) for candidates from India and SAARC countries. For international candidates, the application fee is 50 USD 50 along with the bank charges (as applicable). This fee can be paid through a payment gateway. The application steps to apply are as follows:
- Visit the official website select the dropdown admission, then click on application process
- click on to the Admission Portal and fill out the form as instructed.
- For candidates who are opting Fellow Programme should submit the 1,500 word research proposal
- Pay the application fee through online mode

IIM Mumbai offers several scholarship schemes to the candidates on a merit and needs basis. The details regarding the same is GATE-qualified students are entitled to Teaching Assistantship (at present INR12400 per month) and contingency expenditure as per rules. Earlier, there was no IIM in Mumbai. But now NITIE Mumbai has been renamed to IIM Mumbai. The institute has been ranked 7 under ‘Management’ category by the NIRF in 2023. NITIE has always been at par with IIMs when it comes to Management category rankings. As per the report by Hindustan Times "As per the gazette published by the Ministry of Law and Justice, NITIE will continue to function until a new board is constituted for IIM under this act. After the constitution of a new board under this act, the old board will dissolve."

For PGDIM course admission, candidates must have satisfy the eligibility criteria and appear for the CAT entrance exam. Indian candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) process based on their valid CAT scores subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria. IIM Mumbai has highly qualified faculty. Most of the faculty are PhD and Masters degree holders. CIT also invites faculty for guest lectures and offer an opportunity to students to interact with some of the best personalities. Yes, IIM Mumbai offers hostel facilities to students. PGDIM, PGDIE, PGDSM are residential programmes and staying in the hostel helps develop their socio-cultural horizons. The hostels are really one of the best in the country. All the rooms at IIM Mumbai are well furnished single occupancy with attached bathrooms.
