The admissions are purely on the basis of JEE Advanced. There is a fixed date for the application of IIST out of a limited number of seats, a merit list is prepared and the students are allotted the colleges for admission. Your Mains marks are of no use for admissions in it.

No friend, it's not possible. The candidate applying for IIST Thiruvananthapuram should have passed class 12th with minimum 75% marks and should have cleared JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

Hello Ansh,
This institute gives admissions based on the ranking of JEE Advanced. Diploma holders too can apply since diploma is considered equivalent to 12th. But no lateral admission.

In 2018 Admission is through counselling based on the score obtained in JEE Advanced and 12th score of 75% marks. Seats Available :-
B.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) = 60
B.Tech. (Avionics) = 60
Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M. S. /M.Tech. ). = 20
For Gen category 20%, for OBC 18% and for SC/ST 10% in JEEadv to be eligible to get shortlisted for selection for admission, so more you score more chance to get selected for admission. First try to qualify in JEE main & then do hard to score decent marks, because there are limited seats in IIST. Just do what you are doing, and focus on the Mains, because Mains is the key of your course and to secure a seat in a university, you can do it pretty easily, because you are in class 11th and you have much time to prepare.
