As per the QS World University Rankings, IIT Delhi is the third best institute in India and 174th globally. In the NIRF rankings, it has been ranked at the second spot under the "Engineering" category. Candidates get good placement opportunities. The highest international and domestic package offered was INR 2 crore per annum and INR 1.25 crore per annum. In IIT Delhi placements, 50 students received package more than INR 1 crore per annum (domestic). Thus, it is great if a candidate gets admission at IIT Delhi.

Candidates who meet the course-specific eligibility criteria and have a valid GATE score can apply. Aspirants can complete the application form through the IIT Delhi official website. This is for M.Tech full-time programmes. For part-time/sponsored full-time courses, eligible candidates can register directly at the official website. Admission to part-time M.Tech is based on a written exam and interview round conducted by the institute.

For IIT Delhi M.Tech admission, candidates must have a valid GATE score. Aspirants are also supposed to meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the institute. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Delhi M.Tech course must visit the official website of GATE to apply online. Registered candidates are then required to appear for the GATE entrance exam. Candidates shortlisted based on exam score are further required to participate in COAP counselling.

IIFT Delhi offers PhD courses in the streams of Management and Economics, while IIT Delhi offers PhD in Management only. Both institutes offer doctoral-level courses in full-time and part-time modes. The total tuition fee for the PhD programmes is INR 2.5 Lacs at IIFT Delhi as per the unofficial sources. Further, the highest package offered to PhD in Management at IIT Delhi is recorded to be INR 17.75 Lacs and INR 23 Lacs at IIFT Delhi for PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The total course fee is a cumulative of multiple components such as tuition fee, medical fees, transport fees, etc. IIT Delhi PhD tuition fee for full-time course is INR 7,500 per semester. In addition, PhD (part-time/sponsored) programmes is INR 17,500. The hostel fee for PhD candidates is INR 13,250. Some other fee such as students distress fund scheme (each semester) of INR 400 and insurance scheme (yearly) fee of INR 500 may also be added in the fee. Further, the fee mentioned here is taken from IIT Delhi 2023 prospectus.
