IIT Bombay M.Tech admission is granted based on merit in GATE exam. Candidates seeking admission must have a valid score in the national-level entrance examination. The aspirants who meet the cutoff mark become eligible for the COAP counselling for seat allotment. Additionally, it is also crucial that the aspirants meet the course-specific eligibility requirements:

• Candidates must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for M.Tech course.

Admission to IIT Bombay's MDes programme is based on the applicants' performance in CEED, followed by a written test and inteview conducted by the institute. Candidates who have a valid CEED score and fulfil the preset eligibility requirements can visit the institute's official website to submit an online application. Such application must be submitted along with the required documents and the applicable application fee which varies from INR 150 to INR 300 for different reservation categories. The institute shortlists applicants based on their CEED score.  Shortlisted candidates have to appear for written test and an interview round at IDC School of Design. To gain admission to IIT Bombay for BTech, you must follow a specified protocol. First, after completing Class 12, you must pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced tests. Then, fill out all personal and educational information in the application form, upload any relevant papers, pay the application fee, and submit the form. The admissions procedure involves shortlisting individuals based on exam scores and course-specific factors. BTech admission is dependent on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, with seats allocated via JoSAA Counselling. Candidates must also complete the JoSAA registration and counselling process in order to be admitted to the BTech curriculum. The qualifying requirements include passing 10+2 with PCM as a main subject and scoring at least 75% on the 12th board test.

No, you cannot get direct admission in IIT Bombay for any undergraduate programme. You need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced and qualify the cutoffs to be eligible for admission in IIT Bombay. The JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be conducted on May 26, 2024 and the registration will start from April 21, 2024.

However, if you have passed your qualifying degree from any Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) with a valid GATE score, then you may be eligible for direct admission to some postgraduate programmes, such as MTech, without having to appear for GATE. But you still need to appear for the institute-level written test and/or personal interview if admission is desired in TA/ TAP /FA /RA /RAP /PS /IS /SW courses.

After the completion of the application process and entrance exams, candidates are shortlisted based on the following criteria for each course:

• For BTech admission is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) and BSc courses.
• Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling.
• MSc course selection is through IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling.

Candidates can check with the IIT Bombay admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses. Furthermore, the cutoff for BTech, M.Tech and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies. For merit-based courses, the institute releases a merit list announcing the names of the shortlisted candidates. As per the merit list, candidates are called for counselling for seat allotment. Shortlisted candidates must pay the fee to confirm their admission.
