Aspirants with GATE scores can get admission in M.Tech programme at IIIT Pune. The seats are allotted via CCMT Counselling. In 2025, the closing GATE cutoff was 354 for Electronics & Communication Engineering and 536 for CSE. The cutoffs are quite competitive considering the limited seats available in MTech.

Candidates are offered admission in BTech programme of IIIT Pune via JEE Main scores. Aspirants need to have GATE rank to get admission in MTech. Candidates without GATE scores can also get admission by passing the written test and interview conducted by the institute. Admission to PhD courses is based on NET/ GATE/ written test and/ or interview. Hence, entrance exam scores are required for admission at IIIT Pune.

IIIT Pune offers a four-year BTech course divided into eight semesters. The institute offers BTech in Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. The institute also offer BTech (Hons) inCSE/ ECE with major in one discipline from Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Robotics and VLSI Design. The total tuition fees for PhD is INR 1.4 lakh at IIIT Pune. The total fees for PhD includes tuition fee, develoment fee, library fee, student/ medical aid fund, etc. Aspirants selected for admission need to pay the course fees to confirm their seat.
