MEXT (Monbukagakusho) is a scholarship program that allows international students to study at a Japanese university with a scholarship from the Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Through this program, UTokyo only accepts students as "Research students" and "Undergraduate students".

Yes, NIOS Certificate is accepted by many foreign universities for providing admission in their universities. Candidates who have completed 12th standard from NIOS are equally eligible to study abroad as candidates who have completed 12th standard from CBSE/ State Boards. But, only very less number of universities does not accept NIOS Certificate for providing admission in their university. Thank you.
