JUIT Solan accepts JEE Main scores for admission to B.Tech. For Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, 50% of seats are filled through JEE Main and the remaining 50% through merit in the qualifying examination.

The William Webster Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver of up to Rs. 25,000 per year for students whose parents’ or guardians’ combined income is less than or equal to Rs. 1.5 Lacs per annum. The merit is determined on the basis of the marks obtained in classes 10, 10+2 and B.Tech. 1st Sem.

Jaypee University of Information & Technology, Solan was established in the year 2002. It offers 7 specializations under the B.Tech program, 4 under M.Tech, and 8 under the Ph.D. program. B.Tech is a full-time undergraduate programme of four years with a total of 510 seats. M.Tech is a two-year full-time course with an intake capacity of 18 seats per specialization. JUIT offers Ph.D. as both full-time and part-time. Candidates also have the choice of sponsored Ph.D.

The eligibility criteria for B.Tech at JUIT Solan are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and at least 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST) from a recognised board.
- For B.Tech Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, candidates must have Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Candidates must have qualified JEE Main All India Rank for admission through JEE (Mains) mode.
- Candidates who have passed 12th from Himachal Pradesh are eligible for 10% reserved seats.

Both JUIT Solan and Chitkara University, HImachal Pradesh offer competative placement. the highest package at JUIT Solan is INR 50 LPA while the highest package at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh is INR 40 LPA for B.Tech course. the mean package at JUIT is INR 6.5 LPA and the median package at Chitkara University is INR 5.94 LPA.
But JUIT Solan placement percentage is 70 to 80%. while Chitkar University, Himachal pradesh placement percentage is more than 90%.

Yes Chitkar University is better than Juit Solan due to follow reasons.
fees at Chitkar University is INR 1.8 Lacs per year for B.Tech, while JUIT Solan charges INR 2.4 Lacs per year for the same course.
placements at chitkara is nearly 100% and that is on campus placement,
Rankings: chitkar Universit was ranked 61st and has a NAAC grade of A+ while JUIT Solan grade as A.
Hence - chitkar university is a safe invest return as compar to JUIT.

Out of 30 MSc students in the batch 2021-23, 2 were successfully placed, whereas, 28 choose for further studies. Earlier, out of 12 MSc students 6 were placed during the 2022 placements. Refer to the below table for JUIT placement trends for MSc:
