If you have studied well for UP board exams then you may try for JEE this year itself. UP board is tough as compared to CBSE and you still have time for the exam. You can prepare well. Also, if you are not able to crack JEE and don't get a good engineering college then you can drop a year. But remember that your target are IITs but if you are getting admission in a reputed institute like DTU, BITS Pilani or NITs then also do not take a drop, rather take admission in those colleges as they also offer good placements.

The marks in CS in IIT Kanpur depends on the difficulty of the paper. Rank under 200 for B.Tech CS is considered in top IITs and around 300 marks.

Hello Ishan,
Syllabus for 12th board, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced is almost same. What is different is the way questions are set. If you work on your concepts during board exam preparation, then your 75% preparation for JEE is over.

Hello Ishan,
It's very nice to know your dreams. One year is more than enough. You must firstly plan for following. Time for each subject every day. Time for exercise, pranayam and yoga every day. Time for relaxing activity like singing, listening or playing a musical instrument. After few months, take mock tests every fortnight. In the end some exposure to coaching classes. They will teach you how to answer quickly in exam.

Hello Dhiru,
The rank list would be prepared in the same way as the CRL (common rank list). But, only the candidates under this category would be considered.
They could be categorized based on the marks scored in each section.
In JEE, the person with higher marks in maths, would be placed in a higher rank and after that physics followed by chemistry.

It fluctuates every year on the basis of toughness of the paper but in Advanced, you have to be in top 300 to avail CSE in top IITs.
